IntroductionThe Dallas Semiconductor TINI (Tiny InterNet Interface), pronounced "Tiny", is an embedded controller, programmed using Java, that includes an ethernet interface and TCP/IP support. A sample web server, written in Java is included.A TINI Board can connect sensor arrays and other real-world devices to the internet or any TCP/IP network.

Application Development and ApplicationsThe normal process for using TINI is to use the RS-232 link to load firmware, clear the heap (RAM) that also contains the file system, start the Java Virtual Machine, set the IP address.Software development is usually done on a PC or Workstation and communication with TINI is via Telnet and FTP.
